The Joy of Playing Board Games with Neighbors

Playing board games with neighbors every Friday night has turned our street into a close-knit community. We rotate houses each week, bringing snacks like popcorn and cookies, and play games like Codenames, Ticket to Ride, and Uno. There’s always laughter— especially when my little brother cheats at Uno or the adults argue over Monopoly rules. We’ve gotten to know neighbors we barely spoke to before, like the elderly couple next door who are surprisingly good at strategy games. Board games force us to put down our phones and talk to each other. In a world where everyone is busy, these Friday nights are a reminder that community is built one game night at a time.
