Making Hand-Painted Glass Jars for Fireflies
Mason jars get a coat of translucent paint—soft yellow, pale blue—with tiny holes poked in the lids for air. At dusk, I catch fireflies gently, placing them inside the jars. They flicker, turning the glass into glowing lanterns that light up my porch. Before bed, I release them, watching as they drift back to the grass. This craft isn’t just decor—it’s a quiet pact with nature, enjoying its magic without keeping it.
