I stand at a safe distance, watching as the lava meets the ocean, creating clouds of steam that rise into the night. The ground rumbles softly, a low vibration that travels up through my feet, and the air feels warm on my face. Other visitors stand quietly, their faces lit by the lava’s glow, some taking photos, others just staring in awe. This isn’t just a sight—it’s nature’s power, raw and beautiful, a reminder of how the earth creates and changes.​

We’ve gotten to know neighbors we barely spoke to before, like the elderly couple next door who are surprisingly good at strategy games.
